Becoming a Vanguard and the journey so far.
2020…what a roller coaster of a year this has been this has been for all of us, however for me personally there was a massive highlight, I was invited to join the Veeam Vanguards!!
Over the past three years I have made it my goal to learn as much as I can about Veeam. In April 2018 I successfully completed my VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer) certification and was awarded the Veeam Technical Excellence A/NZ award. In June 2019 I completed my VMCA (Veeam Certified Architect) certification and now in 2020 I successfully qualified for the Veeam Vanguard program
The journey so far has been an amazing one, which would not have been possible without a few key people in my life (you know who you are) who supported me both in my personal life as well as in my career.
I truly have been able to work with some of the smartest people in the IT industry and have been fortunate enough to have some of them as my mentors, which is probably the most valuable take away from all of this.
This is only the beginning of the journey, there is still a massive road ahead and since joining the Vanguards I have been able to meet other Veeam enthusiasts from around the world and have started to build up relationships I never thought possible…I mean i’m just the backups guy 🙂
The definition of the Veeam Vanguard program is
“Veeam’s top-level influencer community. This group shares points of view, provides feedback and is committed to mutual success. Experts in the Vanguard program are a combination of many different disciplines, contribution types and advocacy mechanisms yet are each the best in space regarding technical thought leadership for the technical communities in which Veeam exist.”
I can honestly say my experience so far is that all the members of the Veeam Vanguards live and breath this everyday.
As this year goes on I look forward to what’s to come.
